Project: Wildwood Corporate Centre II

Finish Interior Under $1 Million

Wildwood Corporate Centre II is an eight-story, 212,000 sq. ft., office building located in Spring, Texas. This project is currently pursuing LEED Silver Certification.

Camarata Masonry Systems, Ltd. (CMS) was responsible for the procurement and installation of over 700 sq. ft. of polished New St. Laurent Marble and 2,200 sq. ft. of Portuguese Limestone flooring in honed Gascogne Beige and brushed Chestnut Brown. In addition, CMS supplied and installed 10,900 sq. ft. of porcelain tile, 2,500 sq. ft. glass pattern accent tile, and 16 Persa Avorio Granite vanity tops in the core restrooms.

The 26’ high ceiling and the 52’ long floor to ceiling glass curtain wall provide a great deal of natural light and give the lobby an open feel. The remaining walls in the lobby are finished with a combination of stone, wood and glass. With 1/8” joints separating each of the finishes, careful coordination between trades was very important. New St. Laurent Marble was installed on the main lobby elevator walls. This stone was cut to size and due to the wide range and the veining in the stone, all pieces were end-matched to provide a homogeneous pattern.

While the Portuguese Limestone flooring in two colors complemented the other lobby finishes, it also created one of the biggest challenges. The design called for a 16” x 16” grid pattern of the two different limestones but the Chestnut Brown was only available in a 24” x 24” size. CMS cut each of the Chestnut Brown tiles down to 16” x 16” to match the Gascogne Beige tiles. Each of these cuts had to be accurate and resemble a factory finish so the joint would look flawless where the different stones meet. The end result is a precise installation with a stunning visual appearance.

The design of the core restrooms is similar to the lobby finishes utilizing natural tones, giving a subtle and clean effect. The porcelain tile color selection was a neutral taupe with the same color family neutral glass tile liners on the mirror walls. The taupe palette complements the Persa Avorio granite counter tops.

The combination of the various finishes blends beautifully and gives this structure a pleasing modern appeal. CMS is proud to have completed this project on schedule, within budget and accident free, working more than 5,000 man hours.
